“This was the first cushion foundation I ever tried when I first visited South Korea in 2018. Someone on Jung Saem Mool’s team actually shade-matched me, and I’m obsessed with the match. (I’m wearing 22C Petal Light, which is shocking, because I always go for neutral undertones.) It really meshes with my natural tone (I really don’t like going brighter or darker)—and while I can tell that I have something on, it doesn’t feel like I have anything on at all.
If I’ve learned anything about cushion foundation, it’s about sheer layers, building up, and taking the time to pat the foundation in for a super seamless finish. “You know those ‘Oh my God,' mouth-agape reactions that influencers will sometimes have, and you wonder if they're being overly dramatic? Well, if it's in response to applying L'Oréal Paris's Cushion Foundation, I honestly get it. In short, this is the cushion foundation that changed my mind about cushion foundations. I have combination, sensitive, and dehydrated skin with fine lines, dermatitis skin flares and flakes, closed comedones, and pitted acne scars. It's absolutely not the kind of laundry list that's ever worked with cushion foundations—until this one! This completely blurs out my texture without creasing or making me look cakey (though I can see it looking like a heavy foundation if you applied two or three layers, so I stick to one).
